With every New Year comes new changes to the world of search engine optimization (SEO). This happens mainly for two reasons: one (the official reason), web crawlers continue to improve their platforms to provide the most accurate and relevant search results, and as a result, the SEO rules get changed.
Two (the real reason), is that the giant companies that control search don’t like being eliminated. When SEO was first created and how Black Hat SEO is done today revolves around finding holes and glitches in the search algorithm. Keyword stuffing was a perfect example, where putting a keyword into your page content over and over again put you at the top of the results page. Once Google and Yahoo found out you could easily manipulate their rankings, quick action was soon taken.
So as 2015 gets underway, what do you need to know about SEO and what practices will really work?
A good place to start is with content. It is still king and you need a lot of good, relevant content if you want to appear as an authority in your field, provide a good user experience and to show the search engines that your site has new content appearing regularly.
Next, look at your website and ask yourself, if you were an alien looking at your site for the first time, is everything clear? The products and services showcased in an easy way? Is your site navigation good and do your pages load quickly? You absolutely have to have a clean and quick site to compete in the digital universe.
Once your site is perfected, time to go off-site. Your company business pages and social media profiles should all be linked. If you have just written a great blog on your website, that should be shared on social media and linked back to your site.
The last key component for great 2015 SEO is establishing solid backlinks. Not link farming or getting bad link juice, but establishing real connections between you and other websites and forums.

How can you tell if your Pinterest strategy needs an overhaul? Well, a good indicator is if your stats have all gone stagnant. If you haven’t gotten any new followers, or an increase in engagement or traffic – these may be signs it’s time to up your Pinterest game.
But just how do you do that?
Here are the top 3 ways to plan a successful 2015 Pinterest strategy:
Optimize Pin descriptions
If you describe your pin using positive descriptions, and the most-searched keywords – you vastly increase the likelihood that your pin will be found and liked/repined. For example, if you pin an outfit you’re selling in your retail store, you’d want to use something like: How gorgeous is this fun, chic dress?! Perfect for that holiday party! And don’t forget to use hashtags! So for this one you may use the hashtags #holidaydress #dress #holidayparty
If you want to ensure maximum reach and engagement, you need to think like a pinner – or your consumers! They pin almost every day, and so should you. Just taking 10-20 minutes a day to pin makes a huge difference. And don’t forget to notice the boards and pins that get the most likes, re-pins and follows, and be more active on these – after all, people want to see more from you on these!
If you want to be relevant, think about what people are interested in at this particular moment. Think about the month, holidays and any big events going on in the world. And think about things that are just popular in general to anyone who’s taking a pin break. Funny, cute, sarcastic, or helpful all fit into this category.
There are also tons more great ideas here, or you can contact our social media specialists to see how they can pin for you!
In conclusion, like most social media platforms, this one demands some attention and thought – something you may not have time for. So let us handle this task for you. Contact us today to learn more, and to see the different packages we have to offer.

According to SEO specialists BrightLocal, 75 percent of small business owners say that internet marketing is “very effective” or “effective” at attracting customers to their business.
This statistic, along with a lot of other interesting data, came from BrightLocal’s recent SMB Internet Marketing Survey 2014.
We also learned, from the survey, that small business owners plan to spend more on Internet marketing in 2015, that phone calls are the most valued success metric, and that most small companies handle their marketing in-house (although companies that use consultants/agencies are up 3 percent from the previous year).
The key statistic was mentioned in the first sentence and is graphed out below:
As more people every day are connected to the Internet, it stands to reason that Internet marketing will continue to become more relevant and effective for small businesses growth.
